Matt Shakman

Matt Shakman (b. 1975) is an American director whose work spans television, theater, and large-scale studio projects. After beginning as a child actor, he shifted behind the camera, building a career in episodic storytelling with series including Mad Men, Fargo, and Game of Thrones. He gained wider recognition for directing and executive producing WandaVision, blending classic sitcom form with contemporary superhero myth. In addition to his screen work, Shakman has led major stage productions and served as artistic director of the Geffen Playhouse, reflecting a sustained engagement with performance across mediums.
